Donald B. Robertson joined Handler & Levine, LLC, as Of Counsel in 2014. He was an associate and partner with Ross, Marsh & Foster in Washington, D.C., between 1963 and 1971, engaged in his own individual practice between 1971 and 1989, and rejoined Ross, Marsh & Foster in 1989. He concentrates his practice in estate planning, estate and trust administration, and related tax and real estate matters. As a part of his practice, Don was Board Counsel to the Montgomery County (Maryland) Board of Elections from 1995 to 2003 and, as such represented and advised the Board in connection with election law, governmental process, and a variety of other issues. He continues to advise clients regarding state and local government in Maryland.
Don was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in 1972, re-elected in 1974, 1978, 1982, and 1986, and resigned in 1989. He served as Majority Leader from 1979 to 1987 and as Speaker Pro Tem from 1987 to 1989.
Don is a member of the Bar of Maryland and the District of Columbia. He received an A.B. from Oberlin College in 1953 and an LL.B. from Columbia University in 1958. Between 1953 and 1955, he was on active duty as an officer with the United States Navy.
